Cookies Policy

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small data files that are stored on users’ web browser during their “visit” to various websites such as the website www.sportsfactory.gr, which is managed by our Company, on the World Wide Web. The purpose is to provide to our website the capability of identifying the user in subsequent visits to the same website.

In fact, the use of cookies as trackers is supported by various web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Opera.

2. Functions of cookies

Depending on their type, cookies perform functions such as measuring webpage traffic, recording the number of visitors, language, time of entry, geographical origin, device IDs (e.g., operating system, screen resolution), keywords used, login attempts etc.

While some cookies include the processing of personal data, there are others which do not include such process. In addition, some cookies are technically necessary while others serve commercial and advertising purposes.

3. Types of cookies

There are different types of cookies such as functional, technical, user identification, advertising, etc. First party cookies are installed by the website you visit and are readable only by such website.

If the website uses external third-party services, then their own cookies are installed on your device, so-called third party cookies (third party cookies, such as Google Analytics, Facebook, etc.).

Persistent Cookies are those stored on your computer and are not automatically deleted once you close your browser. Every time you visit our Website, you will be asked to accept or reject the cookies. If you consciously choose to accept them, our website will remember your preferences (such as username, language) for a specific period of time. This way, you will not have to re-enter them when you navigate to our Website during the same visit / session.

4. Legal status of use and storage of cookies

The installation and use of "cookies" are specifically regulated by the law (article 99 (5) of the Law on Regulation of Electronic Communications and Postal Services of 2004 (Law 112 (I) / 2004) as amended, which incorporated the European Directive 2002 / 58 / EC e-privacy) which is expected to be replaced by Regulation (e-privacy Regulation). In that case, it is possible for the policy to change.

Consent is not required for the use of cookies which are absolutely necessary for the operation of the website or for the provision of a service for which the user has explicitly requested.

This exception does not include cookies which help for an increased operation of the page or for the better experience of the users. Only the cookies which are absolutely necessary, i.e. without them the operation of the website for providing a service that the user has explicitly requested would be impossible. For all the rest, cookies require the prior consent of the users.

5. How do we use cookies?

We use first party cookies and third-party cookies (Google, Analytics, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) for technical purposes, which are necessary for the effective operation of our website, the promotion of advertising messages, the collection of information about your web browsing, your purchases tracking as well as monitoring success of an advertising campaign.

6. Obtaining visitor consent

The mandatory acceptance of cookies, apart from the absolutely necessary ones, is not a prerequisite for accessing our website. You can freely navigate by checking and accepting or not the cookies, either ours or those of third parties, whose usage policy is determined exclusively by them, without our involvement and legal responsibility.

Next to the “accept” button of each cookie there is a link, which leads to the current cookie usage policy of our website, where each user can read all the necessary information, that will facilitate them to decide whether or not to accept cookies. Disabling the trackers, apart from the absolutely necessary ones, is as easy as accepting them, with the same number of clicks and the same fonts.

7. Check and delete cookies

You can control and/or delete cookies according to your wishes. You can delete all cookies that are already on the computer, as well as configure most browsers to prevent the installation of cookies. However, in this case, you may need to adjust manually certain preferences every time you visit a site, and some services may also not work (e.g. cached login details, website preferences).
