About Polo Ralph Lauren

Ralph Lauren was founded in 1967 by Ralph Lauren and initially started with the production of men's ties. The company soon emerged as a world leader in fashion. Inspired by sports, Ralph created the Polo menswear line, which in 1969 became exclusive to Bloomingdale's. In 1971, the company introduced women's shirts with the iconic Polo logo and in 1972 opened its first store on Rodeo Drive. T-shirts in 24 colors and cotton polo shirts became symbols of the brand. In 1974, Ralph Lauren dressed the actors of the film "The Great Gatsby", and in 1977 Diane Keaton and Woody Allen wore his clothes in the film "Annie Hall". In 1978, the company's first fragrances were launched. International expansion began in 1981 with the opening of the first store in London. In 1986, it opened its flagship store in New York and in 1997 it was listed on the New York Stock Exchange. In 2000, it opened its online store, which was relaunched as ralphlauren.com in 2007. In 2015, Stefan Larsson took over as CEO, while Ralph Lauren remained as executive chairman and chief creative officer.
