About Vans

In 1966, brothers Paul and Jim Van Doren, along with Gordon C. Lee, opened the first Vans store in Anaheim, California. In 1976, the Vans Era collection became a favorite among skateboarders and the “Off The Wall” logo appeared. In 1977, they launched the “Old Skool” skate shoes, and shortly after the “Vans Classic Slip-Ons” became a must-have for skateboarders and BMX-lovers. In 1978 the “Sk8-Hi” was released and in 1988 the first signature skate shoe by Steve Caballero. Vans expanded into action sports with the “Vans Triple Crown Series” and the Vans Snowboard Boots, worn by Olympians. In 2005, they collaborated with Marc Jacobs for the “Vault by Vans” series and later with Takashi Murakami. Thematic collections were released, such as “Vans x The Simpsons”, “Disney x Vans” and “Vans x Harry Potter”. They also collaborated with bands such as Metallica and the Beatles. At the same time, they released the surf movie "Get-N Classic, Vol.1" and organized the skater championship "Vans Park Series". In 2015, they were awarded "Brand of the Year" and in 2017 they collaborated with Karl Lagerfeld. Today, they are honoring their first factory with “The Anaheim Factory” series.
